For extended life, we recommend placing Tatami outdoors quarterly and allowt them sun dry for an afternoon. If your area is damp, we suggest a de-humidifier to protect your Tatami. You can freshen and protect tatami with a light dusting of cornstarch from time to time. Similar to a mattress, it is suggested to rotate, periodically to avoid wear from highly trafficked areas.
