These are the Half King Sized version of the traditional Japanese Tatami, used as flooring for centuries in Tea houses and Zen Rooms, creating an aromatic soft, inviting and relaxing environment. These are a perfect base for your favorite Tatami or Zen Platform bed. Each mat is over 80 lbs and measure 90 cm x 200 cm (35.4" wide x 78.7" long x 2" high. HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR TATAMI Tatami are green when new, and over time, will dry to become a tan color. Keep Tatami dry from moisture or excessive humidity. Avoid wet cleaners. It is recommended to remove Tatami periodicaly and sun dry for an afternoon. If your area is damp, we suggest a dehumidifier to protect your Tatami, and avoid possible mildew. You can freshen and protect mats with a light dusting of cornstarch from time to time. Similar to a mattress, rotate to avoid wear from high traffic areas. Vacuum Tatami along grain for general cleaning. Walking on tatami with shoes is not recommended. We are confident that you will appreciate the beuty and style Tatami offers, and with proper care, your Tatami should last for many years. | |
