Buddhist mala are used for keeping count while repeating a mantra during meditation. Known as 'japa' in Sanskrit, the beads are moved sequentially between the fingers, allowing you to focus on the prayer rather than counting, which helps keep your mind clear and focused. When using a mala repeatedly, it is believed to take on the energy of the mantra that is being recited.
This Buddhist mala bead set includes one traditional strand of 108 beads and a matching wrist mala containing 27 beads. Made of smooth, polished white wood known as cini. Cini translates to sugar in the Nepali language. These light yellow wooden beads measure between 8mm and 8.5mm and are finished with a red tassel.
Due to the natural materials used, the color and the size of the beads may vary slightly. Some minor imperfections may be visible due to the handmade assembly process.
This mala set is a good choice for meditation practitioners beginning their journey.
