Furoshiki - Great Wave

A Furoshiki is a centuries old traditional Japanese wrapping cloth that was used to transport clothes, gifts and other goods. Merchants used them to transport their wares or to wrap a gift.

Today, with a renewed interest and fresh symbolic designs Furoshiki are used as decorative wall hangings as well as an eco-friendly way to carry lunches, wrap presents and to tote groceries.

This Furoshiki is inspired by the The Great Wave at Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai, a famous Japanese artist, known for his ukiyo-e art in the Edo period.

It measures 26 1/4" in width and 27 1/2" long. Made in Japan of 100% Rayon.
