Our ro-cut tatami mat is perfect for your tea ceremony. The ro cut half size tatami mat features a corner cut-out which can be removed for tea service. The cut-out is included with the mat and is covered on two sides with your choice of a black or brocade border. This tatami floor mat measures 90cm x 90cm or approximately 35 1/2" square, is 2" thick and weighs an average of 30lbs. The ro cut out measures 16.73 inches square or 42.5 cm. Our tatami mats are crafted with an intricately woven rush grass surface, a dried, baked and compressed rice straw inner core, and finished with a moisture barrier sewn to the bottom foundation. Two sides of the mat are covered with a black or brocade fabric border for the classic tatami style.
