Hosho is a highly refined kozo rice paper that is known for its thickness, strength and fluffiness. One side has a smooth finish and the reverse is a rough finish. Printmakers prefer its aborbency, strength and versatility. Painters like it for ink, watercolor and lettering. Hosho is sometimes chosen for stone/monument rubbing techniques.
