Our traditional Japanese style Tatami mat with Fiber Fill. Instead of baked rice straw, this mat contains natural cellulose tree fiber.
Our mats are crafted with a natural rush grass, double
layer top, and compressed fiber fill.
They are sewn together with a black fabric border, and bound by
organic twine. A moisture resistant barrier is sewn to the bottom foundation.
Fiber Mats are firmer than the Rice Straw mats and are used more often in commercial settings such as Japanese Restaurants and Martial Arts Studios. The Traditional Fiber Fill Tatami Mat measures 90cm x 180cm (35 1/2" x 70.8" x 2"). We also offer the half mat measuring 90cm x 90cm (35 1/2" x 35 1/2 x 2").
