Our mats are carefully crafted by weaving a Japanese Rush Grass double
layer top, and baking the natural cellulose tree fiber at high temperatures.
They are then sewn together with a black fabric border, bound and by
organic twine. Our Tatami have a moisture resistant barrier at the
foundation. Fiber Fill Tatami Mats are firmer than the Rice Straw Fill and are used more often in commercial settings such as Japanese Restaurants and Martial Arts Studios. The Traditional Fiber Fill Tatami Mat measures 90 cm x 180 cm (35 1/2" x 70.8" x 2 1/4").
