Water and Moon Quan Yin with Heart SutraQuan Yin is known as the Goddess of Mercy. The name, Quan Yin means "One Who Sees and Hears the Cry from the Human World". Revered for centuries in China, her title represents "She who hears prayers." This Buddhist deity was known for comforting the ill, the lost and troubled in life.
The Heart Sutra is beautifully engraved at the base of the sculpture and is a very popular sutra for both its brevity and depth of meaning. The title translates to "Heart of the perfection of Transcendent Wisdom." The Heart Sutra could be said to be the best known and most popular of all Buddhist scriptures.
Exceptionally detailed, it is cast from resin using bronze powder to give it a metallic finish. The statue is then hand painted to add the fine details. This substantial statue measures 16" in height, 7" in width and 5 1/2" in depth. It weighs approximately 12 lbs.
