Silk Scroll Koi in Lotus Pond

This elegant silk wall scroll is rich in texture and imbued with classic detail. It beautifully depicts traditional Koi swimming in a lotus pond. Expertly detailed by skilled artisans with a rich tan and sea foam green silk brocade border and finshed with porcelain dowels. The calligraphy is a short writing based on the conversation between the famous Chinese philospher HueiZi and ZhuanZi when they crossed a bridge over a pond. ZhuanZi spoke, "The fish are enjoying themselves while swimming happily in the water". HueiZi replied "How would you know the fish are happy if you are not the fish?" ZhuanZi said "How can you tell that I am not aware of it if you are not me?" This timeless treasure hand painted sumi-e scroll measures 72" long and 15 1/2" wide. Each scroll comes boxed and will surely make the perfect finishing touch to any room or a great gift.
