This Japanese robe features two highly symbolic characters: the dragon and the hawk. The men's yukata can be worn during celebrations, or lounging at home while cooling down from an afternoon of work in sweltering heat! Yukata are versatile and can be used as a cover up at the pool or after a bath or shower.
The dragon is a wise and powerful creature that can be found in different corners of the world. They are seen as guardians with destructive potential, but their protective nature symbolizes strength and bravery for those willing to take them on or for those needing it most. Because they are bold fighters, dragons represent a fighting spirit, nobility and modesty.
The hawk symbolizes a bold spirit as well as bravery and nobility. An old proverb says 'a wise hawk hides its talents'. Thus, the hawk describes a person that is very talented, but modest. Hawks represent boldness and their ability makes one "wise." Pairing the dragon and hawk together represents wedded bliss.
